Leave Snelsetter and follow the course of the river towards the forest. Rest for a while at the waterfall before walking up the hill through the indigenous forest. Exit the forest at the ruin and walk through Fynbos on the foothills of the Langeberg Mountains. Along the way, have a swim in a mountain stream. Take in the beautiful views of the mountains and the farmlands below.

From Snelsetter you walk towards the homestead untill you enter the kloof that is the beginning of the Dikkopskraal Nature Reserve. A protected area of the Renosterveld. Follow the kloof untill you exit and walk back via farmlands and veld.

Transport to Grootvadersbosch Nature Reserve. Walk through indigenous forest, swin in the Duiwenhoks River, see the giant Redwoods and observe the forest canopy from a bird hide. Walk back to the guesthouse or transport back.

Non-Walking partners are welcome

Grootvadersbosh Farm is known for birding, mountain biking and dairy cows. Keith's list for the farm is around 180 species. Stay at the guesthouse while the others walk. This tranquil setting is ideal for reading, painting and simply relaxing.

Your hosts, Keith and Michele Moodie, look forward to welcoming you to Grootvadersbosch Farm and sharing with you the beauty and history it has to offer.
